Lub-lub. Lub-lub.

Lying awake in the dark, he thought again how odd it was that he never zoned on this music, no matter how hard he concentrated on it, immersed himself in it.

Lub-lub. Lub-lub.

Some nights it was just a simple thing, listening to a single track. Other nights... other nights he needed to hear a whole album, needed to lose himself in the rhythm.

Lub-lub. Lub-lub.

Especially days like today, when his partner scared him shitless, bravely talking down a psychotic gunman.

Lub-lub. Lub-lub.

He'd be listening to the music of Blair's heartbeat for a long time tonight.
