The Big Picture

By Ellisonbabe

A/N: Studied the photo until it was imprinted on the back of my eyelids! *ebg*. Then I completely went off at a tangent.(Don't I always?)

I saw you at the crime scene. You, your partner and your Captain. Looking at the victim, lying there with his eyes open, so still and quiet. So at peace. Your partner looked like he was going to vomit. He just can't get used to this part of the job can he? Your Captain looked aghast at the thought of another body - another case to be solved. You looked liked you had just had the weight of the world fall on your shoulders. Relax. Detective. You're the Cop of the Year. You can handle the pressure of finding the killer before he strikes again. Oh yes. I said 'he' didn't I? I must have insider knowledge. But that's for me to know and you to find out. Clichéd aren't I? You'll find out. You always do. It may take you a while. I'm hoping it will. I enjoy the thrill of the chase. Don't you? You, with your, how do you say it - enhanced senses. Oh yes. I know all about you Detective Ellison. Or should I call you The Sentinel? Standing guard over your great city. So many people to protect all at once. Think you can save them all, do you? All those people - do you think you can find out who the next victim will be - before the killer strikes? Do you think you can protect her? Like you protected this one? After all he was one of those people in your great city - did you protect him? I don't think so. Do you? You failed him - like you failed me. Did you think I'd let you get away with it? Here's another cliché for you - revenge is a dish best served cold. I've waited 10 years for this. No one is going to stop me - not even you - not until I want to be stopped. So, I'll be seeing you. Around. Somewhere. Sometime. Who knows? You don't. I do.
