A Different Light
You know how I knew Jim and I were forever?
He put a reading light over my side of the bed, actually attached it to the railing.
We were still in that kind of grey area between finally admitting we loved each other and admitting that we wanted forever, but that was a forever kind of move. And so Jim. Letting me know without words that he was willing to dial down so I could read in bed, next to him.
So I said the words first, but his smile back was bright enough to push away all the grey.
